ICC-ES provides national-level certification of innovative and standardized construction products to Canadian codes and standards. We are a one-stop testing, inspection and certification option for Canada!
ICC-ES provides trusted Evaluation Service Reports (ESRs) to document a product’s compliance with Canadian codes. Designed to meet the needs of Canadian regulators, manufacturers, and builders, ESRs help streamline product approvals. These valuable Canadian code evaluations support the construction industry and advance innovation, removing barriers between jurisdictions and reducing the need for project-specific-engineering.
Unlike traditional certification bodies, ICC-ES develops unique criteria for innovative construction products – called Acceptance Criteria. When a code-referenced standard doesn’t exist to address an innovative product these standard-like documents set out the code requirements based on the alternative solution process described in the Canada’s National Model Construction Codes. Our decades of experience in criteria development is unmatched. Our transparent, rigorous development process includes Canadian design professional review, a public comment period, and approval by our committee of Canadian building officials.
Additionally, as a Standards Council of Canada (SCC) accredited certification body, ICC-ES offers Evaluation Service Listings (ESLs) based on Canadian code-referenced standards.
